1. School diary
Each child has been given a diary. Please teach your child how to use the diary. For example, when you write something down on the specific date and want your child to show me or other subject teachers, do make sure they do so. We will acknowledge by writing our reply there with signature. This is a good way for you to communicate with teachers. Also to remind your child take good care of the diary. Each missing diary costs $3 for a replacement copy and you can purchase it at the general office.
2. Timetable matters
Timetable will only be finalized next week. Once I receive the confirmed timetable, I will make photocopies and give each child a copy. Meanwhile, please refer to the timetable below.

Note:
(1) Lesson starts at 7:45am, each lesson is 30mins, ends at 1:25pm.
(2) Please take note that 1F has PE on every Monday and Friday, so children need to wear PE attire to school on every Monday and Friday. There is no need for children to bring school uniform to change. They should be in their PE attire for the whole day. For girls, they need to wear their skirts outside the PE shorts. They should take off the skirts before they go for PE and wear the skirts back after the PE.
(3) Please also take note that 1F has calligraphy lesson on every Tuesday. Children need to bring their calligraphy bags on Tuesday. After their first calligraphy lesson, the bags will be stored behind the classroom for the entire school year so that children no need to carry them home and bring to school weekly.
3. Things need to be emphasized to your child
During this first week of school, many children lost their wallets or water bottles. Could all parents emphasize to your child to take good care of their personal belongings? Especially after recess, they need to bring their wallets, water bottles, lunch boxes back to classroom rather than left them in the canteen. Reinforce to your child that they must eat during recess, drink water and go to toilet using the half an hour of recess time. Because I noticed some children feel very hungry at 11am or 12pm plus. I've told them how they can make good use of their recess: eat, drink, toilet then play rather than play for the whole recess. I've also made it a class rule that during the first period after recess (9.50am-10.20am), they are not allowed to go to toilet or drink water because they should have done these during recess. After that, they will be given toilet break and water break. Please help reinforce this to your child.
4. Class Leadership Duties
1F children have nominated and voted their own class monitor/monitress, discipline monitor/monitress, environment monitor/monitress, group leaders and assistant group leaders. These children will play the leadership roles for the first two terms. If your child missed the role this round and feels disappointed, please help encourage him/her. Tell them these leadership roles will be rotated and teachers will assign new leaders according to their performance in term 3.
5. Subscription of Chinese Magazine
Each child was given a subscription form together with an envelope on Thursday. Please note that subscription is compulsory for all P1s. Kindly issue a cheque according to the instruction written there and put the cheque inside the envelope. Fill the subscription form and paste it on the envelope. Ask your child to submit to me on Monday during Chinese lesson. Today, I've received envelopes from Li Ying, Ying Wei, Asher, Keven, Jarryl Tsai, Travis, Weihan, Macus and Chiral. The rest, please remember to bring on Monday.
6. Photos
I need 2 photos of the following kids: Kylie, Yan Yee, Keven (1), Ethan, Titus and Ryan. Parents of these children, pls let your child bring two photos and pass to me on Monday. These two are for class display and library card.
7. Chinese Lesson Progress
This week I've only managed to teach PinYin a, o, e and the four tones. There is no weekend homework. Let your child have a good rest and just help them revise a little bit on the four tones if possible.
