Weekly Update - Term 1 Week 8 Weekend

Dear parents,

1. Parent Meeting Session
I will be meeting you to discuss about your child’s progress and performance in 1F classroom on 23 March (Monday) or 26 March (Thursday) 2pm – 5pm. By now, you should have already received the appointment form and indicated your preferred date and time to meet me. 19 pupils handed in the appointment forms today. I am still waiting for the other 12 forms to reach me on Monday. Please take note that an acknowledgement slip will be given to your child on Monday which indicates the confirmed date and time for me to meet you. If you cannot make it on that specific timeslot, please do email me: Zhou_Jing@nyps.edu.sg to make a new appointment. For those who have not handed in the form today, please refer to the available slots below when you fill in the form.

Available slots:
23 March - 3pm, 3:30pm, 3:45pm, 4pm, 4:30pm, 4:45pm
26 March - 3:45pm, 4pm, 4:15pm, 4:30pm

For those parents who choose to communicate with me via email or calls, I will email you or call you during Term 2 week 1 as well.

2. Chinese Lesson Progress
We have stopped at textbook 1A Revision 2 (page 48). I will not continue teaching any new things in week 9 & week 10. We will only continue to teach new lessons in Term 2. We will use the coming two weeks to revise on what we have learned in the past eight weeks.

2.1 Chinese Activity Book
We have progressed well and completed all exercises in the activity book for Term 1: Page 1 – Page 40. Please check your child’s work for all the 40 pages and kindly sign on page 40 besides the “Parent Signature” sign. Children are only required to hand in the activity book on Term 2 Week 1 Monday (23 March 2009). Meanwhile, they can keep the activity book for self-revision.

2.2 Chinese Spelling Book
We have completed spelling test 3 on this Thursday. The following children managed to get full mark: Chui Yingwei, Lin jieqi, Marcus Ang, Hu Yifeng, Jarryl Tsai, Keven Chua, Russell Soh, Ethan Tan and Timothy. Great job! Especially for Chui Yingwei, Lin Jieqi, Timothy and Russell Soh who got full marks for all the past three tests, three claps for you!!!

We will have spelling test 4 on coming Thursday (5 March 2009). Please get your child prepared for that!

2.3 Blue Files
Besides the activity book and spelling tests, children also do worksheets in class. They have completed the first four 补充练习. I will teach them to file all worksheets done inside their blue file. They are supposed to bring back their blue file on coming Tuesday to show you. Again, same as the activity book, you are required to sign on the content page of 补充练习 besides the “Parent Signature” sign. Children are only required to hand in the blue file on Term 2 Week 1 Monday (23 March 2009). Meanwhile, they can keep the blue file for self-revision.
